Indiana District One Where Softball and Baseball ROCK!

News Detail

Jun, 2019

Demotte Steele defeated Demotte Rose 14-1 in the inaugural Championship game of the Ted Callaway tournament, hosted by State Park Little League. Opening rounds of the tournament were held at Demotte's outstanding Field of Dreams Park.  Congratulations Demotte, great showing by both teams, well representing your League.

The Tournament is named after Ted Callaway, former Little League volunteer with State Park and District One.  Callaway served in multiple roles at State Park over the years; Manager, Coach, Umpire, Board Member and most importantly friend of the program.  Callaway for many years also served District One as a District Umpire, working tirelessly during Little League District and State Tournaments.  Ted passed away unexpectedly 2016, a true loss to his family and community..

The Tournament teams involved were from the Major Softball Division (ages 9-12) chartered in District One Little League programs Wheatfield, Roselawn, State Park, Demotte and Hebron.

Brief opening ceremonies included Ted's family with his daughter Nicole, a former State Park player,  throwing out the first pitch ( a little high and outside, but that's OK, Nicole played a lot of third base in her Little League career!!).  Numerous Former State Park players, Presidents, Volunteers, Board members, family, friends and community members were in attendance for this wonderful event.

Thanks to ALL for making this a truly memorable moment at State Park and Indiana District One Little League.
